Lake Haldensee – ice skating on the natural lake
On Lake Haldensee you have the wonderful opportunity to try ice skating on a frozen lake. Because the Tannheimer Tal is a high valley at more than 1,000 metres the lakes here freeze up regularly and earlier than in other regions. Near Haller you will find a part of the surface available for ice skaters, which is regularly prepared. You will additionally have the opportunity to try ice skating in the evenings thanks to the floodlights in your winter holiday.
On Lake Vilsalpee you can also enjoy ice skating
Lake Vilsalpsee is also open in winter and gets you skating in front of the breathtaking scenery of the natural reserve. Combine ice skating with a romantic winter hike.
Indoor ice skating in Tannheim
If the weather is not all that nice or if the temperatures are too low, then there's always the indoor ice rink. It is located right at the tourism association building and opens daily in winter.
Ice skates can be borrowed on site.
Don't worry: Lake Haldensee and Lake Vilsalpsee are only open for ice skating if the ice is thick enough. In addition the surface is only accessible to a certain extent. This way you are never in danger of underestimating a dangerous situation on a remote spot on the lake.
We at Hotel Sägerhof will also tell you which lakes are open and where you can borrow ice skates. Send us a no obligation holiday enquiry and look forward to a diverse winter holiday with ice skating or curling.
